As part of the TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS, the IFOY nominees undergo a three-stage evaluation process. The first step: the IFOY Innovation Check. This scientific assessment is conducted by the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML) in Dortmund, as well as the Chairs of Technical Logistics at the Universities of Dresden and Munich and the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) in Stuttgart. The scientists evaluate the market relevance, customer benefits, technical execution, and degree of innovation of the finalists while verifying the accuracy of the manufacturers’ claims.

The second step: practical assessment and IFOY Test. This phase of the audit includes tests and interviews conducted by intralogistics expert Theo Egberts.

The third step is the jury vote. Here, the jury members—editors-in-chief of the world's leading logistics magazines—vote to determine the winners.

At the conclusion of the IFOY TEST DAYS 2025, the nominees of the IFOY AWARD, along with the jurors and testers, once again gathered for an exclusive Nominee Dinner at the Strobels restaurant in Dortmund. In a relaxed atmosphere, the event provided an opportunity for personal exchange and networking among the participants.

“Best in Intralogistics” certificates awarded in Dortmund

As part of the opening of the TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS (March 26 and 27), the organizers of the International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) AWARD presented the Best in Intralogistics certificates 2025 in Dortmund. Representatives from 15 companies received their certificates in Hall 3 of Messe Dortmund from Jan Drömer, Chairman of the Executive Board of the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association. These companies can use the seal for their nominated innovations in the future: aluco, Blickfeld, ecoro, enabl, EP Equipment Germany, Exotec, Filics, Geekplus Europe, HUBTEX, Interroll, Jungheinrich, Logitrans, PLANCISE, STILL, and Verity.

Here are the finalists

The nominees for the IFOY AWARD 2025 have been announced: out of a total of 49 submitted products, 21 devices and solutions from 15 intralogistics providers across six countries have advanced to the finals in Dortmund. The nominated innovations include entries from aluco, EP Equipment Germany, Exotec, Geekplus Europe, HUBTEX, Interroll, Jungheinrich, Logitrans, PLANCISE, STILL, and Verity. Additionally, Blickfeld, ecoro, enabl, and Filics are competing for the coveted "IFOY Start-up of the Year" spin-off award.

From March 24 - 27, the finalists will undergo an extensive audit process, including multiple nomination and testing cycles. Instead of being compared directly to one another, the nominees will be evaluated against their direct competitors in the market. Key criteria include functionality, innovation value, customer benefit, and market relevance. Jurors from 19 nations, along with their business advisory teams, will attend the event to assess the finalists in person.

AInnovation enthusiasts will have the opportunity to experience the IFOY finalists hands-on at TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS on March 26 and 27, 2025. In addition to the IFOY finalists, up to 100 innovations and new products will be available for testing across 10,000 square meters of hall space. The event is expected to welcome 1,500 participants.

The applicant portal is closed and phase three of the IFOY AWARD 2023 has begun. The jurors and test teams are now in charge. They are working intensively on the applications received and determining which products and solutions will be nominated for the final phase of the competition.

After a formal and technical preliminary examination by the IFOY organization and the test teams, the jury nominates the products and solutions for the final round from all valid applications by the end of the year. Those who make it to the final round undergo the three-stage IFOY Audit, consisting of the IFOY Test, scientific IFOY Innovation Check and jury testing.

Important information: The nominees are not compared with each other, but with relevant competitive devices on the market.

The audit will take place as part of the TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS at Messe Dortmund. TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS will open its doors to the professional public on March 26 and 27, 2025; a total of 1,500 participants are expected. The IFOY TEST DAYS will begin two days earlier on the afternoon of March 24 with the first functional tests. On March 25, 2025, the IFOY finalists will undergo the Scientific Innovation Check and present their innovations to a jury of trade journalists from 19 countries around the world.

All applicants will be informed in writing whether the jury has made a nomination.
