IFOY AWARD 2018: Liebherr MK 140 is the Best Crane of the Year
The IFOY Award 2018 in the "Crane and Lifting Appliance" category goes to the MK 140 tower crane from Liebherr-Werk Biberach GmbH. The international jury selected the green crane as the best new product and the cheering was overwhelming when Sascha Schmel, Managing Director VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Sector Association, revealed the traditionally well-kept secret about the winner at the CeMAT opening ceremony.
Two Category Winners for the First Time: Jungheinrich and Wegard win IFOY AWARD
Surprise at the IFOY Awards. For the first time in IFOY history, two vehicles may call themselves "Warehouse Truck of the Year". The improved ECE 225 incorporating easyPILOT Follow from Jungheinrich and the Wegard Trail from the Hamburg startup Wegard crossed the finish line on the same level. The cheering was overwhelming when the laudatory speakers revealed the traditionally well-kept secret of the winners at the CeMAT opening ceremony.
Jungheinrich's SLH300 battery charging system wins IFOY AWARD
The IFOY Award 2018 in the "Special of the Year" category goes to the cross-technology battery charging system SLH300 from Jungheinrich AG, Hamburg. The cheering was overwhelming when Ralf Pätzold, Executive Board Member at Chep Germany, revealed the traditionally well-kept secret of the winner at the CeMAT opening ceremony.
IFOY Test Certificates presented
At this year's IFOY Test Days, the organisation of the international intralogistics competition awarded the "Best in Intralogistics" certificates for the first time. BYD, Jungheinrich, Liebherr, Still, Gebr. Schulte, Wegard and Witron received the certificate at a reception in the Hermes Lounge of Deutsche Messe AG.
IFOY finalists put to the test
At the beginning of February, 12 IFOY-nominated devices, components and solutions from the manufacturers BYD, Jungheinrich, Liebherr, Still, Gebr. Schulte, Wegard and Witron were subjected to the world's biggest intralogistics test at the IFOY Test Days in Hall 13 of the Hanover Trade Fair.
IFOY AWARD 2018 finalists announced
At the beginning of the year, the IFOY organisation announced the nominations for this year's IFOY Award. From all entrants, the jury selected 13 products and solutions from BYD, Jungheinrich, Liebherr, J. D. Neuhaus, Still, Gebr. Schulte, Wegard and Witron to compete for the world's best logistics products and solutions of the year.
IFOY AWARD goes Intralogistics
It has already been the case for three years that not just forklift manufacturers but also all intralogistics providers have been able to enter their innovations for the IFOY Award. Now, the IFOY organisation has integrated intralogistics also as part of the name. The "International Forklift Truck of the Year" is being rechristened "International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year" Award – the abbreviation "IFOY" remains unchanged.
