Hellmann becomes official logistics partner
of the  IFOY AWARD

Munich/Osnabrück, Sep 18, 2014.  Hellmann Worldwide Logistics has been awarded the contract for the logistics of the IFOY Award  (International Forklift Truck of the Year). As "Official Logistics Partner", the Osnabrück-based logistics service provider is responsible for the transport of all nominated vehicles as well as for the infrastructure and organisation of the IFOY Test Week for the 2015 IFOY selection phase.

When the nominated forklift trucks and MHE vehicles line up for the test in February, perfect logistics is all important. As the test results have a major influence on the final selection process of the jury, the test sequence, the ambient conditions, the technology and the infrastructure all have to be perfectly coordinated in order to ensure absolutely identical conditions for all the candidates. "This isn't a job for the weak of heart. We are well prepared and looking forward to welcoming the very best of intralogistics to Osnabrück", says Kai Hasenpusch, Managing Director at Hellmann Worldwide Logistics in Germany.

The Test Week is one of the very special features of the IFOY Award. "A written entry alone is not enough to permit a well-founded assessment. That's why during the Test Week the nominees must prove in practice what they promised in the promotional brochures", explains Anita Würmser, Executive Jury Chairperson of the IFOY organisation. And it's also why the nominated trucks in all weight classes, MHE equipment, shuttles, VNA trucks, reach trucks and other special-purpose vehicles from around the world will be simultaneously transported to the test set-up at Hellmann's "Speicher 3" building in Osnabrück. In the "Glass Hall" erected specially for the tests, the trucks will be rigorously put through their paces by a specialised tester, scientists and, finally, each and every jury member before the jury of trade journalists from leading European logistics media make their decision.

The entry phase for the "Intralogistics Oscar“ hast started on September 18, 2014. Manufacturers of MHE vehicles and providers of intralogistics services can enter their new models and concepts for one of the five awards up to December 1 at www.ifoy.org. Entries are invited for the award in the categories of counter balanced trucks up to 3.5 tons and from 3.51 tons, MHE vehicles, automated guided vehicles and intralogistics systems solutions. The conditions of participation can be requested from the IFOY office (www.ifoy.org).
