Winners will be announced on July 3 in Dortmund.
Ismaning near Munich/Dortmund, March 26, 2025. As part of the opening of the TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS (March 26 and 27), the organizers of the International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year (IFOY) AWARD presented the Best in Intralogistics certificates 2025 in Dortmund. Representatives from 15 companies received their certificates in Hall 3 of Messe Dortmund from Jan Drömer, Chairman of the Executive Board of the VDMA Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association. These companies can use the seal for their nominated innovations in the future: aluco, Blickfeld, ecoro, enabl, EP Equipment Germany, Exotec, Filics, Geekplus Europe, HUBTEX, Interroll, Jungheinrich, Logitrans, PLANCISE, STILL, and Verity.
Seven years ago, the Best in Intralogistics seal was introduced to emphasize the high degree of innovation behind the products and solutions nominated for the IFOY AWARD. “To qualify for the IFOY AWARD, applicants must present their innovations in a rigorous three-stage audit held in Dortmund. Only those who successfully complete all stages earn the right to carry the Best in Intralogistics seal,” explained Anita Würmser, Managing Chairwoman of the jury.
IFOY Audit: A Strict Testing Process
In 2025, the IFOY audit took place at Messe Dortmund for the fifth time. It consists of several series of tests, the results of which serve as a basis for the 25 jury members – leading logistics journalists from all over the world – to select the winners. The nominated innovations are never directly compared with each other but are evaluated in the context of comparable market solutions. This ensures an objective assessment of performance and degree of innovation.
The three-stage test procedure in detail:
The first step: the IFOY Innovation Check. This scientific evaluation is carried out by the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML) in Dortmund, the Chairs of Technical Logistics at the Universities of Dresden and Munich, and the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) in Stuttgart. The scientists assess the market relevance, customer benefits, technical design, and degree of innovation of the finalists, while also verifying the accuracy of the manufacturers' specifications.
The second step: practical assessment and IFOY test. This part of the audit includes tests and surveys conducted by intralogistics expert Theo Egberts. The equipment undergoes the comprehensive IFOY test protocol with around 80 criteria, evaluating aspects such as cost-effectiveness, sustainability, energy efficiency, safety, and ergonomics.
The third step: the jury vote. The final assessment is based on the results of the Innovation Check, the test outcomes, and the jury members' personal impressions.
Festive Awards Ceremony in July
The winners of the coveted IFOY AWARD trophies, also known as the “Oscars of intralogistics,” will be unveiled at the IFOY AWARD Night on July 3, 2025, in Dortmund's Phoenix des Lumières.
