Ismaning near Munich, October 31, 2024. After a trip to the imperial city of Baden near Vienna, the IFOY AWARD Night 2025 will take place in summer 2025 in Germany again. The IFOY AWARD (International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year) trophies will be presented to the winners of the intralogistics competition at a ceremony in the Phoenixhalle in Dortmund on July 3. The historic industrial hall of the former Phoenix-West blast furnace plant has been home to the immersive art center “Phoenix des Lumières” since 2023. The IFOY organization is expecting more than 250 international guests from business, science and the media for the evening.
The IFOY AWARD Night has already taken place twice in Dortmund. Thanks to a cooperation with the IFOY AWARD event partner “Phoenix des Lumières”, the digital art center will become a spectacular backdrop for the award ceremony. “Thanks to its smart location policy, Dortmund has developed into a leading logistics and high-tech location in Germany. In logistics research, the metropolis in the Ruhr region plays in the Champions League thanks to the two Fraunhofer Institutes, TU Dortmund University and many other institutions. The city and the Phoenix des Lumières digital art center are an ideal place to award prizes for innovative technologies and outstanding innovations. This is what the finalists of the IFOY AWARD stand for,” says Anita Wuermser, Executive Jury Chairwoman of the IFOY AWARD.
“Phoenix des Lumières” is the first permanent art center of the French cultural operator Culturespaces in Germany and is located in a hall that was used as a gas blower hall for the Phoenix-West blast furnace plant at the beginning of the 20th century. Around 100 video projectors, 28 loudspeakers and ten subwoofers provide the spatial and sound experience on an area of more than 2,200 square meters, projecting the images and works of artists onto 5,600 square meters of projection surface. The technology is also used to spectacularly stage the videos of the IFOY AWARD finalists during the award ceremony.
The final phase of applications for the IFOY AWARD is currently underway. The application portal is open online until November 5. There are a total of ten categories to choose from for 2025, covering all areas of intralogistics. Forklift trucks and warehouse equipment through to custom-built special vehicles are all eligible to apply. Automated and autonomous industrial trucks, stationary and mobile robots, software and outstanding technical details or components such as ergonomic innovations, safety solutions or aids in the warehouse make up what is now the largest IFOY applicant field. Prizes are also awarded for successfully implemented integrated warehouse and automation projects for customers. A separate Spin-Off Award is presented to start-up companies. Newly founded companies can apply for the IFOY Start-up of the Year Award with their products and services.
The IFOY AWARD is one of the world's most important technology competitions in intralogistics. It has established itself as an indicator of economic efficiency and innovation and is considered a highly coveted innovation prize in intralogistics due to its test organization and its outstanding marketing value. The jury is made up of the editors-in-chief of leading logistics media in 18 countries.
Those nominated by the jury undergo the three-stage IFOY audit at the IFOY TEST DAYS, consisting of the IFOY Test, the scientific IFOY Innovation Check and the jury test. The decisive factor is that the nominees are not compared with each other, but with their competitor devices on the market.
IFOY TEST DAYS will take place again next year as part of TEST CAMP INTRALOGISTICS at Messe Dortmund, which opens its doors on March 26 and 27. The IFOY TEST DAYS begin two days earlier - on the afternoon of March 24 with the first functional tests. On March 25, the IFOY finalists will undergo the scientific IFOY Innovation Check and present their innovations to a jury of trade journalists from 18 countries. The IFOY AWARD is sponsored by the Materials Handling and Intralogistics Association and the Robotics + Automation Association of the VDMA. IFOY partners are Messe Dortmund and the world's leading forklift attachment manufacturer Cascade. The logistics partner is LTG. The IFOY event partner is Phoenix des Lumières.
Applications for the IFOY AWARD and the Start-up of the Year Award can only be submitted online at www.ifoy.org. The conditions of participation can be requested from the IFOY office at
