  • CHEP Deutschland GmbH
  • CHEP Deutschland GmbH

CHEP is the invisible backbone of the supply chain, helping to move more goods to more people, in more places, than anyone else on earth. The pooling network (pallets, containers and crates) has 50 times more pallets in circulation in Europe than anyone else, which creates efficiencies of scale for everyone who uses it. CHEP´s visibility of the global end-to-end supply chain gives the company data insights which offer optimisation, innovation and collaboration opportunities, making CHEP a truly strategic partner.

Smarter, more sustainable supply chains

CHEP’s business model is inherently sustainable. By using pooled assets and sustainability solutions, the customers’ supply chains become more efficient in terms of cost and use of natural resources. CHEP helps customers become part of the circular economy through CHEP´s principles of share and reuse. The more CHEP´s customers use the platforms, the greater the efficiencies.

Just finding individual efficiencies is not enough for the challenge that we all face. We need a new collective mindset that starts from the principle of generating zero waste – then working together to see how to make that happen. In 2019, CHEP launched "Zero Waste World" an initiative to bring together many of the world’s major companies in a group effort to address the three main challenges facing our supply chain.

Katrin Zeiler

"Our vision is to become a leader in driving net positive supply chains through customer collaborations by 2025. By working together with a wide range of partners, Zero Waste World is a global collaboration program creating and delivering Zero Waste Innovations and scalable solutions solving common industry challenges. We have been supporting the IFOY AWARD for over five years and are looking forward to continuing our relationship as official partner throughout 2021 and beyond."

Messe Dortmund
Official IFOY Partner

Messe Dortmund stands for innovative events. Located in the middle of Germany's most populous state, it is an expert for individually organized trade and public fairs of international importance, which are realized flexibly and close to the customer. European or world leaders in their sectors are the trade fairs JAGD & HUND, InterTabac, BOE, elektrotechnik and the CREATIVA. The trade fair program includes a total of more than 50 events.

The 4500 square meter North Entrance is the anchor point of the strategic further development of the trade fair location. Together with the light-flooded visitor passage and the rebuilt trade fair forecourt, trade, public or special interest trade fairs meet optimal conditions.

The Dortmund trade fair center has excellent transport infrastructure. A dense network of freeways, national and international train connections and airports make it easy for visitors to reach the exhibition center. The site is directly connected to six freeways and is only a five-minute drive away from Dortmund's main train station and a twelve-minute drive away from Dortmund Airport.

Covering an area of 300x70 meters, Messe Dortmund offers a total of nine exhibition halls with up to 60,000 square meters of space for individual exhibition formats. Every year, the group of companies organizes more than 1,000 events with over 1.7 million visitors from the fields of trade fairs, congresses, conferences, music, sports and entertainment. More than 9,000 exhibitors present themselves at around 60 trade fairs. This makes Messe Dortmund one of the most powerful trade fair locations for guest show organizers in Germany.

Sabine Loos

"The Ruhr region is one of the top logistics regions in Germany due to its central geographical location, the available workforce and the good infrastructure. Dortmund, with the Fraunhofer IML and many other institutions, is the heart of European logistics research. We are delighted to have been able to bring the world's most important intralogistics award, the IFOY AWARD, to Dortmund, which attracts international logistics media and trade visitors. At the same time, Messe Dortmund can expand its portfolio with TEST CAMP Intralogistics to include another exciting B2B field."

Sustainable transport solutions are indispensable for transport fleets today. Freight forwarders and logistics companies are increasingly committing themselves to the lowest possible carbon dioxide footprint. Trailers from Kögel make a major contribution to ensuring that the implementation of these ambitious goals is successful. At the same time, the vehicle manufacturer's creative designers devote a great deal of energy to ensuring that the customer's economic efficiency does not fall by the wayside - true to the company's motto "Economy meets Ecology - Because we care".

The Euro Trailer sets standards: It is up to 1.38 metres longer and thus offers up to ten percent more transport volume than conventional trailers. Depending on the body version, it can transport up to ten cubic metres more volume or up to four additional pallets. This results in a considerable reduction in fuel consumption per transported pallet. Scientific studies confirm a ten percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions with the same fuel consumption compared to a standard trailer.

With trailers and swap bodies from Kögel, the customer is equipped for combined road and rail transport. In this way, the strengths of the individual modes of transport can be combined: high flexibility and special environmental compatibility. An outstandingly versatile talent here is the multifunctional Kögel Port 45 Triplex container chassis - a lightweight chassis with centre extension which is suitable for the transport of all ISO and high-cube containers. For road transport, Kögel customers benefit from the innovative NOVUM generation. This includes the Cargo, Mega and Light Plus flatbed vehicles. Thanks to an innovative design, these vehicles allow a very high degree of customisation, with which Kögel responds to the most diverse requirements of the market.

Thomas Eschey

"The IFOY AWARD is an outstanding event that rewards the courage to innovate. The expert jury attaches particular importance to the practical benefits, sustainability and cost-effectiveness of the products in the test. In this way, the IFOY AWARD sets the same priorities as Kögel's designers and technicians. The partnership between the IFOY AWARD and Kögel is therefore consistent and a great pleasure for us."

Thomas Eschey, Managing Director Production and Technology, Kögel Trailer GmbH
